எருதே இளைய நுகம்உண ராவே
சகடம் பண்டம் பெரிதுபெய் தன்றே
அவல்இழியினும் மிசைஏறினும்
அவணது அறியுநர் யார்என உமணர்

கீழ்மரத்து யாத்த சேமஅச்சு அன்ன
இசைவிளங்கு கவிகை நெடியோய்! திங்கள்
நாள்நிறை மதியத்து அனையைஇருள்
யாவண தோநின் நிழல்வாழ் வோர்க்கே?


பொருளுரை:


காளைகள் இளையவை; நுகத்தடியில் பூட்டப் படாதவை. 
வண்டியில் பண்டங்கள் அதிகமாக ஏற்றப்பட்டுள்ளன. 
(போகும் வழியில்) வண்டி பள்ளத்தில் இறங்க வேண்டியதாக இருக்கலாம்; 

மேட்டில் ஏற வேண்டியதாக இருக்கலாம்;
வழி எப்படி இருக்கும் அன்பதை யார் அறிவர் என்று எண்ணி 
உப்பு வணிகர்கள் தங்கள் வண்டியின் அடியில் பாதுகாப்பாகக் கட்டிய சேம அச்சு போன்றவனே! 

விளங்கும் புகழும், கொடையளிக்கக் கவிழ்ந்த கையும் உடைய உயர்ந்தோனே! 
நீ முழுமதி போன்றவன். 
உன் நிழலில் வாழ்பவர்களுக்குத் துன்பம் எங்கே உள்ளது?


Description:(A Song About Pohutezhini)

The bulls are young. 
They are capable of drawing the cart without knowing 
that the wood lock is attached to their necks. 
The cart is overloaded . 

The salt sellers afraid what will happen to the cart 
when its wheels go down to the pit or go up the bump. 

They attach a safety axle to support the main axle. 
Pohutezhini is like that safety axle. 
He has great fame and hands which give gifts to others. 
He is like the shining full moon. 

There is no sorrow for those who live under his white umbrella.
