Nanotechnology Sensitization Program Prospectus

 Six Month Distance Learning Program

Objective

Nano Sensitization Program is first of its kind in India. It focuses on providing entry level information for all those who are interested in this exciting & rapidly expanding field of NanoScience & Technology. This program will lead to higher levels of knowledge base which in turn is quite useful for career development and new job opportunities.

Aim

The program aims to provide good academic foundation in the areas of Nano Science and Technology. It intends to meet the emerging demands of nanotechnology professionals and will prepare the participants for a successful career in the Nano Science and Technology, for career advancement of existing professionals in various industries.

Duration

Duration to complete the program is six months. However the candidates have maximum of nine months to complete the program. (it is inclusive of a grace period of three months against a re-registration fee of Rs. 1000 / US$ 50)

Eligibility

This is a sensitization program, and, has no restriction for joining. Any enthusiastic student who is pursuing an under-graduate /post-graduate course, in any discipline is eligible to join. Experienced professionals, academicians and researchers too are advised to join this program

Fee Structure

The program fee should be send along with complete application form at Noida, Corporate Office. The fee should be paid through DD in favor of "Nano Science and Technology Consortium" payable at Delhi/New Delhi.

Scholarships:

  1. The scholarships are available to first 200 participants only, however NSTC reserves the right to increase/ decrease this number with/ without any prior notice.
  2. Applicants shall be awarded scholarships on the basis of aggregate marks in diploma/ graduation/ post-graduation degree. Aspirants with scores of (60-70)%, (71-80)% and above 80% in diploma/ graduation/ post-graduation degree are eligible for 30%, 40% and 50% discount on the program fee respectively. Under- graduates those who have passed intermediate/ higher secondary/ 10+2 examination with  above mentioned  marks will also be considered for the scholarship accordingly.  This  scheme is valid till 31st October 2008  and applicable to first 200 applicants only.

Program Methodology

  • Join the program by submitting the application form with necessary fee. 
  • Receive sensitization kit including study material, CD (s) and assignments at your postal address.
  • Self study of sensitization kit.
  • Participate on web portal activities on www.nstc.in, receive internet based support.
  • Submit assignments/ paper for award of Certification.
  • Receive certification from "Nano Science and Technology Consortium" after submission of paper.
  • Receive on going support from  "Nano Science and Technology               Consortium".

    Award of Certificate

    A participant is awarded certificate, after the submission of his/ her assignment, self authored article/ paper. The time duration required to complete the certification is six months. Students are requested to send the said assignment to the NSTC within a stipulated time period of six months. Failing to meet the said time line of six months, requires a re-registration in the same program, by remitting a re-registration fee of Rs. 1000 /-. This facilitates an extension of three months (maximum) period for the submission of the assignment (article/ paper).

    Aspirants who wish to apply for the Nanotechnology Sensitization program can download the free application form from our website: www.nstc.in  or send a request with DD of Rs. 100 or US$ 50 (outside India) in favour of " Nano Science and Technology Consortium" for complete brochure and application form of the program.

    Completed application form along with all the documents should be sent to:

    Duly filled application form, must be accompanied with Bank Draft in favour of "Nano Science and Technology Consortium", payable at Delhi/ New Delhi, along with a copy  of the certificate/ mark sheet of the highest Degree/ Diploma and  2 copies of passport size photographs.
